Exodus 2:22
22And she gave birth to a son and [Moses] named him Gershom saying, “I have become a foreigner in a foreign land1.”
Translation Notes
1This is not Genesis 15:13 because the Israelites need to become “stranger(s) in a land that is not theirs” but here Moses, “an Egyptian” per Exodus 12:19, is calling land outside of Egypt a foreign land. But clearly foreshadowing the second captivity.
